Sterling Shekel Earrings |
Earrings with History! In 66CE, the Jews rebelled against Roman rule and began to mint their own coins, called Shekels, as a sign of their independence. The coins in these earrings were cast from a half-shekel, in The Jewish Museum in New York, which dates to the first year of the revolt. Both sides of the coin are visible. Decorated with chalice and pomegranate on either face. This is an authorized reproduction cast by the lost-wax method and then hand finished. Earrings are 5/8" in diameter. Come in gift box.
